WINIR is pleased to sponsor of the Third Conference of the Forum for Institutional Thought with the FONTES Association for Research into the Sources and Functions of Law on “Institutions and Survival: Transformation of Institutions in Politics, Law and the Economy.” to be held at the University of Białystok (and online) on 19-20 June 2026.
The conference aims to create an interdisciplinary academic platform for the advancement and disseminating knowledge in the fields of institutional economics, law and political science among representatives of academic and teaching staff, PhD students and undergraduates from various academic institutions, as well as politicians, activists and entrepreneurs from Poland and abroad. The conference is intended to provide a space for the exchange of research findings and a forum for meetings between researchers from Poland and abroad, with particular emphasis on:
- institutional economics, law, and political science
- institutional determinants of economic and social order
- transformations in collective action and economic policy
- Central and Eastern Europe in comparative perspective
- contemporary socio-economic crises and institutional change

The conference languages are English and Polish. To attend in person, the standard conference fee is PLN 1,000, PLN 800 for members of FONTES, WINIR and FMI, and PLN 200 for students. The fee also includes a gala dinner on 19 June 2026. For those attending online only, passive participation is free of charge and active participation is PLN 200.

The results of the research presented at the conference may be published in the form of articles, subject to positive reviews, in the following journals: (a) a special edition of Przegląd Prawa Publicznego in 2026 (articles must be submitted by the end of June 2026; additional cost PLN 600), (b) in the Journal of Institutional Economics (no additional cost but with no guaranteed publication date), (c) in Studia Uniwersytetów Pogranicza (no additional cost but with no guaranteed publication date), (d), in Studies in Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric (no additional cost but with no guaranteed publication date), (e) FONTES IURIS.
