WINIR 2025 – Venue

The Tenth WINIR Conference will be held in Prague, the capital of Czechia. The conference is hosted by the Faculty of Business Administration at the Prague University of Economics and Business. The faculty shares with WINIR a commitment to openness to new ideas and approaches to the study of diverse institutions. The university is easily accessible, located in the centre of the city.

WINIR 2024 – Venue

The Eighth WINIR Conference will be held in Pittsburgh, the Steel City, in southwest Pennsylvania, USA. The conference is hosted by University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Governance and Markets (CGM), which is housed in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, and shares with WINIR a commitment to the study of diverse institutions and governance arrangements that affect social order and human well-being.

WINIR 2023 – Venue

The Eighth WINIR Conference will be held in Catania, the second largest city of the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sicily, off the coast of Southern Italy. Among other things, Catania, which lies at the foot of the volcano Etna facing the Ioanian Sea, is known for its baroque architecture, for which it is part of the Val di Noto UNESCO World Heritage Site. WINIR 2019 – Venue

The Sixth WINIR Conference was held in Northern Europe, in one of the oldest cities in Sweden, Lund. Located in the country’s southernmost province, Skåne (Scania), Lund’s neighbour is Malmö, one of Scandinavia’s largest cities, which is connected to the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, by the Öresund Bridge, made famous by the Scandinavian noir crime series, The Bridge.

WINIR 2018 – Venue

The Fifth WINIR Conference was held in East Asia, in the fascinating city of Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China located south of the mainland Chinese province of Guangdong and east of Macao. Its strategic location on the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea has made it one of the world’s most thriving and cosmopolitan cities, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Orient“.

WINIR 2017 – Venue

The Fourth WINIR Conference was held in the beautiful city of Utrecht, the capital of the province of the same name in the Netherlands. Utrecht was founded by the Romans roughly in 50 CE, and from the 8th century became the center of Dutch Christianity. In 1024 its bishops were made Princes of the Holy Roman Empire, with the resulting Prince-Bishopric of Utrecht lasting until 1528.

The Third WINIR Conference was held in the New England city of Boston, Massachusetts, situated on the East Coast of the United States.
